Jill's French 75
Share
My go to cocktail is a French 75 which combines 2 of my favorites gin and Champagne. It is very simple to make and most bartenders will know it when you request it.
2 ounces gin (I typically use Fords or Plymouth)
¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
¾ ounce simple syrup
2 ounces Champagne
Lemon twist (for garnish)
Combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, cover, and shake vigorously until the shaker feels cold, about 15- 20 seconds.
Strain cocktail into chilled glass. (It is traditionally served in a champagne flute but I like to drink mine in a coupe glass) Top with Champagne; garnish with lemon twist.
Enjoy!
