HAND CARE

Working in jewelry put my hands constantly on display. This caused me to develop a passion for hand and nail care.

Here are some of our TIPS and TRICKS!

NAIL TIPS

Find an amazing manicurist and stick with them. I go to Vanity Projects in the Lower East Side and I love it. In addition to their amazing nail art they are super careful when removing gel manicures which is key to maintaining healthy nails. As someone who used to break nails all the time I believe in spending a little extra for someone who is meticulous.

PRO TIP: try a negative space gel manicure to make it last longer without showing nail bed grow out.

HAND CARE TIPS

Keep your hands from drying out with regular moisturizing. It is important to keep your hands hydrated as well as your body (Lots of water). When applying lotion, ALWAYS remove jewelry first and place it somewhere safe. Some of the products I like are:

Burt’s Bees Ultimate Hand Cream with baobab oil (available on Amazon)

L'Occitane Fast-Absorbing 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream (available on Amazon)

FOR INTENSIVE OVERNIGHT CARE

Hand masks are great for overnight care or apply moisturizer and then sleep in cotton gloves. Also, using shea butter alone at night ( not as fragrant as your packaged products ) can give your hands a great boost.

Check out Sephora’s line of hand masks.

CUTICLE CARE TIP

Since cuticles  can easily become dry and brittle, I love carrying a small cuticle cream or moisturizer in my Carbon Culture pouch.

I like L'Occitane Nail & Cuticle Nourishing Oil - small and easy to carry.
